Preservation and restauration of CBC ecosystems through improvement of the quality of river waters and soils

Objective: This project will foster better understanding and collaboration between partners particularly in the area of preservation and restauration of CBC ecosystems, as well as preservation and improvement of the quality of soils, air and water. By enhancing the riverbeds of the rivers in the two towns, will be deminished the risk of chemical contamination of the river with petroleum products and oils and mechanical impurities.

Activities: Investment activities for preservation and improvement in Dupnitsa and Trgovishte; Delivered equipment; Conduction of survey; Organization of seminar; Elaboration of guide for citizens.

Results: Strengthened beds of four rivers - Vucji Do, Prelesjacka, Ribna, Bistritsa, protection of the river ecosystems and enhancement of the quality of the water, soils and air through reduction of the inflow of chemical pollution (petroleum, oils and mechanical particles); Increased expertise capacity and informed population.
