Project summary:

The main project objective is creation and initial development of a brand new tourist product entitled “The Carpet Tale”.

Planned activities:

  1. Drafting of a detailed programme for the development of “The Carpet Tale”, including a marketing plan;
  2. Establishment of two traditional Workshops featuring real local craftsmen showcasing the art of carpet-making;
  3. Exchange of visits of artisans between the Serbian and Bulgarian partners;
  4. Campaign targeting tourism stakeholders.

Expected results:

The project deliverable will be a viable touristic product, achieved as a result of:

  1. An elaborated detailed programme for the development of “The Carpet Tale”, including a marketing plan;
  2. Established two traditional Workshops featuring real local craftsmen showcasing the art of carpet-making;
  3. Conducted exchange of visits of artisans between the Serbian and Bulgarian partners;
  4. Conducted campaign targeting tourism stakeholders.

The target groups include the touristic and services businesses operating in the target regions: mainly SMEs, in particular microenterprises (family hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, craft workshops, local souvenir sellers), travel agencies. The direct beneficiaries are the two partnering Museums. Final beneficiaries are the proactive and forward-thinking Museum visitors, both locals and tourists. Particular attention shall be paid to the opportunity to attract families with children from Bulgaria and Serbia as well as other EU member states.
