2.2 People-To-People Networking

The overall objective of the project is to create conditions for sustainable cooperation in cross-border region for increased youth participation in community life through social volunteering. Specific project objective is establishing a network of volunteer centers across the whole border area and development of volunteering in social activities, established with a sustainable partnership.

Activities: 1.Research of situation and needs of social volunteering in border region of both countries; 2.Development of common methodology for social volunteering across border area; 3.Nomination of local organizations to become providers of volunteer services in local communities of cross border area; 4.Equipment of volunteer centres on both sides with basic tools; 5.Timok Youth Centre - Training for volunteer centers leaders; 6.Orientation and training of volunteers; 7.Testing period - practice of volunteers in social services/organizations; 8.Volunteer exchange visits (cross-border volunteering); 9.Closing forum for evaluation of results; 10.Web platform creation; 11. Publications for dissemination of project achievements.

Expected results: Research of current situation with volunteering in Bulgarian-Serbian border region; - Methodology for youth volunteering in social sphere created and tested; - 10 local NGOs developed as volunteer centres; - 20 youth workers prepared for training and supervision of volunteer work; - 160 youth volunteers prepared and practiced social volunteering in their communities; - One web-platform created to support networking cross border; - One CBC network for social volunteering created, etc.
