Project summary:

The objective of the project is promoting equal opportunities and active participation of young people with disabilities and supporting their social integration.

Main activities:

  1. Establishment of an “APASY” (Adapted physical activity and sports - Youths for Youths) network;
  2. Drowning up of an “APASY” methodology for disabled, which includes swimming; functional training; cardio fitness;
  3. Developing of training activities – swimming, functional training and cardio fitness;
  4. Conducting of an “APASY” training of unemployed - swimming;
  5. Conducting of swimming for disabled;
  6. Conducting of swimming for children with spinal distortion and flat foot;
  7. Conducting of two Bulgarian-Serbian workshops in Nis and Pernik;
  8. Conducting of two Open APASY Days in Nis and Pernik;
  9. Conducting of a training in functional training and cardio fitness for unemployed;
  10. Conducting of sessions with disabled under supervision;
  11. Conducted functional training - children with spinal distortion and flat foot;
  12. Elaborating of a Trainer ‘s Book;
  13. Conducting of a Round table in Pernik.

Expected results:

  1. Established “APASY” (Adapted physical activity and sports - Youths for Youths) network here;
  2. Drawn up “APASY” methodology for disabled, which includes swimming; functional training; cardio fitness here;
  3. Developed training activities – swimming, functional training and cardio fitness - 30 youths trained/certified here;
  4. Conducted “APASY” training of unemployed - swimming;
  5. Conducted swimming for disabled - 30 young people with disabilities involved in rehabilitation;
  6. Conducted swimming for children with spinal distortion and flat foot;
  7. Conducted two Bulgarian-Serbian workshops in Nis and Pernik;
  8. Conducted two Open APASY Days in Nis and Pernik;
  9. Conducted training in functional training and cardio fitness for unemployed;
  10. Conducted sessions with disabled under supervision;
  11. Conducted functional training - children with spinal distortion and flat foot - 70 studеnts with spinal distortion and flat foot involved in swimming and functional training;
  12. Elaborated Trainer ‘s Book here;
  13. Conducted Round table in Pernik with 50 participants;

The main target groups are: 

  • From Pernik: Young people with disabilities, especially those with motor and visual disorders; Students from 5 schools with spinal distortion and flat foot; Unemployed youths;
  • From Nis: Young people with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia, paraplegia, motor delay, amputations, impaired nerves brachialis and visually impaired; Unemployed youths;
